A teardrop consisting of a cross section of 1,700 – 1,900 year old hand blown ancient roman glass is inset into a handcrafted sterling silver teardrop and suspended on a sterling silver hook. Timeless is easy to say with these earrings considering the roman glass has survived through such history to get to this point. Then it was found, polished, and given new life by true jewelry artisans with over 30 years experience.
Because the hand blown roman glass has been buried for close to two thousand years the patinas on the glass surface will be slightly different, no two are exactly the same. The supply is not infinite but they do plan to continue handcrafting these beautiful artisan jewelry pieces as long as archeologists continue to find broken glass at sites. Finding new life in discarded and used items from thousands of years ago has to be the ultimate in recycling. Included will be a copy of the letter of dating verification.
