Judy Vilmain was well into a career as a university professor teaching psychology when she realized she was on the wrong path. She had received a love of working with her hands from her mother and a sense of design from her father. After much contemplation, she left her position and moved to the coast to be near the ocean and follow her hands as well as her heart and become a gift and jewelry artisan.
Judy instills a tone for every Vilmain gift that is a potent mix of whimsy, inspiration, and function. She strives to design each paperweight to be engaging and creative through the projection of motivational quotes, inspirational quotes, and passionate goals. They can be inspired and unique gift ideas for anyone or make great office gifts for women and men. Her original necklaces and photo stands are created to reverse the spinning of an impersonal world. Vilmain funds employee continuing education, donates ten percent of annual profits to local and national non-profit organizations, and uses recycled materials when possible, and donates excess materials to RI Recycling for Education. Judy’s former profession has become her hobby, and her former hobby is now her profession.
