In 1996, Tamara’s job as a Staff Gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America was about to end. While she was faced with what to do next, she remembered that she had always created things with her hands and loved to do so. With “necessity being the mother of invention” and the timing dealt her, she decided it was time to explore that passion. Tamara found new joy in designing sculptures and paperweights with whimsical and inspirational sayings or symbols and bringing them to life. Each artisan piece is a reminder of everyday wishes, hopes, and dreams with twists to cheer up, console, and amuse. Perfect for the office or your home, her original designs are truly unique gifts of inspiration for any woman or man.
Working with her hands, heart, and mind to create these handmade twists in word play has provided her with a creative joy and keeps her going. She receives much joy from hearing about people’s responses upon receiving her pieces as gifts. Some laugh, some cry, and then the stories begin….
